kamsa celebrated the festival called dhanuryAga only to bring kriShNa where he planned to kill Him. But kriShNa destroyed the mallas, the kuvaLayApeeDa, kamsa himself and the dhanuryAga too. It is He who acted as a charioteer to arjuna (pArtta). It is He who renounced the kingdom in order to obey the orders of His step mother kaikEyi. He is seen in the divyadESa called tiruvallikkENi as pArtasArati.

I saw Him—who is vEda swaroopa; who gives the fruit of actions according to the injunctions found in vEda; whom riShis experience with joy; who is like a sweet fruit; who is the son of nandagOpa and looks like a black elephant; who is the prime cause of all the creation; who is worshipped by all; who is like nectar—in tiruvallikkENi where there are huge mansions and beautiful ladies living there.

vEdattinSuvai—There are as many desires as there are. vEda shows the way to satisfy them and gives the fruit of actions.

pootana took the form of yaSOda to kill kaNNan. Instead He killed her when He sucked her poison smeared breasts. Such is the fate of the rAkShasas. He took mOhini avatAra—an enchanting damsel—to cheat the asuras when they chased dhanvantiri who carried the amruta kalaSa. She (!) distributed the nectar to dEvas only. This astonishing feat was praised by all the dEvas, vidyAdharas, chAraNas, sidhAs and so on. AzhwAr says he saw Him at tiruvallikkENi and worshipped Him.

Every year the Ayars used to celebrate the indra festival where they would offer worship to Him. This practice was being done since a long time. kaNNan stopped them from continuing this practice. He asked them to offer the worship to the mountain gOvardhana. indra got angry and poured heavy rain as a revenge and punishment. kaNNan listened to the request of Ayar to protect them and their cattle and lifted the mountain as an umbrella. He is seen in tiruvallikkENi.

emberumAn is the consort of periyapirATTi, Booma dEvi and nappinnai pirATTI of Ayarkula. He is the consort of many other dEvis too. He is the comrade of pANDavas and acted as their messenger too. He is the friend of all Baktas and is the Lord of Ayarkula. He is in tiruvllikkENi.

dhrutarAShTra was born blind. His son duryOdana considered himself as the emperor. Though the right to rule belonged to the pANDavas, duryOdana snatched away their right by unjust ways. duryOdana ordered his younger brother to bring droupadi, pANDava's wife, to the court. Then he humiliated her by treating her as his slave. droupadi was extremely annoyed and asked Sree kriShNa's help. BagavAn planned a war in which the wives of duryOdanas experienced the suffering that droupadi experienced earlier.

indiran Siruvan - Refers to arjuna. kunti could not get children through pANDu due to the curse of a riShi. Hence they decided to have children through gods. Thus dharmarAja was the son of yama, Beema of vAyu, arjuna of indra.

Sree rama is an avatAra to manifest BagavAn's infinite guNas. He is praised by the vaidikas, the brAhmaNa, the elders, young ones, ladies and all whoever see Him. He is praised by His brothers lakShmana, barata, Satrugna, seeta pirATTi and other foes. He resides in tiruvallikkENi where there are cool forests inhabited by birds like cuckoos, peacocks etc and where there are tall trees making the sunlight impassable resulting in the cool and pleasant atmosphere.

hiranyAsura saw his son prahlAda chanting the thousand names of hari and singing His praise after coming from the gurukula. He could not tolerate this. He tried to convince his dear son about his greatness whereas the son tried to convince him of His greatness. After arguments and counter arguments hiraNya found his son very admant. so he barged the pillar from where narasihga came out to prove His Bakta's words as true. He is called teLisingaperumAl in tiruvallikkENi.

gajEndra was eager to pick freshly bloomed flowers to offer at His tiruvaDi. He went to a lake where there were plenty of fish and flowers. He plucked a fresh beautiful lotus. Suddenly he was caught by a crocodile. He trumpeted loudly out of pain. The pain is not of body but of mind. That he is not able to offer the flower to Him. BagavAn came posthaste on garuDa to save His Bakta. He killed the crocodile with His chakrAyudha.

AzhitoTTAnai - is used instead of Azhi viTTAnai. toTTAnai means 'just touched', viTTAnai means discharged. It signifies BagavAn's effortlessness in the prayOga(usage) of Ayudhas.

tirumangai Azhwar belongs to pANDya kula. He is called tennan since he comes from the race of malaydhwaja, a pANDya king. He also belongs to the family of toNDaimAn. Hence he is called toNDaiyan kOn. mayilApoor is called mahiLApuri since there used to live beautiful women. tiruvallikkENi is near mylApoor. There are plenty of forests, water sources like wells, rivers, etc, forts big buildings and public halls etc., which add to the beauty of the city. Herelies emberumAn about whom AzhwAr has sung ten pAsurams, which read, will make them the ruler of paramapada.
