BagavAn is very lovable to nappinnai pirATTi born of Ayar kula; to periya pirATTi born of a flower. He is very wicked to all rAkShasas. He is very pleased to—stand in tirunaraiyoor, sits in tiruvAli, lie in tirukkuDandai, walk (measure the worlds) in tirukkOvaloor. He resides for ever in tiruneermalai for the sake of Baktas.

kANDava vana was burnt by agni at the behest of Sree kriShNa, just as indra was looking on. Thus He reduced the Boomi bAra. Then again during the mahABArata war almost all the wicked kings were made to die (to reduce Boomi bAra). This was also contrived by Sree kriShNa Himself. During narasimha avatAra it was the killing of hiraNya to protect His Bakta, prahlAda alone. During trivikrama avatAra He protected everyone irrespective of Baktas or non-Baktas by placing His tiruvaDi on everyone alike. He resides in tiruneermalai.

BagavAn carries panchAyudhas-SanKa, chakra, gada, sword, and a bow—in order to protect His Baktas. Though not one of them, plough as an Ayudha is mentioned here since it is balarAma You had this Ayudha (halAyudha). In order to reduce the weigh (Bara) of Boomi pirATTi—who wears beautiful pearl necklace on her breasts—because of the presence of wicked kings on earth, He takes avatAras and causes the destruction of wicked kings.

ulahANDavanukku—The protection of dharma is by the destruction of adharma. The protection of Boomi pirATTi is done by the killing of wicked beings. He resides in neermalai.

Coming as narasimha He killed hiraNya, the enemy of prahlAda, and made the wives of the asura fall into the funeral pyre. And also He acted as pArttasArati in order to protect droupadi, His devotee, causing the destruction of duryOdanAdis. Thus He reveals His love towards His Baktas and dAsas.

In order to cross the sea Sree rAma built a bridge across it with big boulders of mountains with the help of vAnara sEna (the army of monkeys) crossing to the other side He fought with rAvaNa and discharged volley of arrows at Him. He could not, however, defeat Him. At last He employed brahmAstra in order not to prolong the war but make a short work of it. Thus He reached ayOdhya with seeta pirATTi, took back the kingdom and ruled over it for long years, emberumAn, of the colour of dark clouds, resides here in tiruneermalai.

emberumAn—who took paraSurAma avatAra to kill kShatriya and reduce the Boomi bAra (virOdhi nirAsana); is our swAmi (to people like me); who has swallowed the worlds, mountains, oceans illuminaries in the sky and everything that is created; He who is called neervaNNan—resides in tiruneermalai. He is the supreme Lord having no one equal or above Him.

enakkArAdu—After swallowing all that is created by Him He feels ‘I haven’t had enough’. It means though He helps His Baktas He feels He has not done enough for them.

He posed himself as BagavAn. So kaNNan killed Him and survived his cities as well. He killed proud hiraNya who never once chanted His names. He split open hiraNya’s chest with His sharp nails.

Some commentators way the first two lines refer not to pouNDraka vAsudEva but to hiraNyAkSha, the elder brother of hiraNya.

BagavAn does not like those who foolishly follow ahimsa by roaming nakedly, seeing the floor with peacock feathers, they are like ghost women not having fear or sense of shame. He likes those who offer Him fresh flowers at His tiruvaDi and pray—‘Oh! BagavAn! let not yama take us to his realm. Please bless us’. He certainly blesses those pure souls. He resides in tiruneermalai.

Oh! men! If you are interested in Bagavat anuBava like me, come here and listen to what i say, before it falls in to the ears of the nAstikas. Aha! This divya dESa is really great which is beyond words. It destroys sins in no time, uplifts those who go there and worship Him. He is there with all His glories, whining like a sun, those who are averse to Him are far away from Him. To them He does not reveal Himself. They are the fools who run after the worldly pleasures.

These pASuras sung by tirumangai AzhwAr, an expert elephant rider in wars, the chief of tirumangai city. Those who read and meditate on these pASuras which are about emberuman residing in tiruneermalai will have their papas destroyed; will go to swarga if they so desire; will become emperors ruling under moon like royal umbrella; will reach BagavAn’s tiruvaDi.
